Manovikas College of Special Education (MCSE) in Ujjain will be hosting a National seminar on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) on January 24th and 25th, 2024. The seminar, known as Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Program, aims to promote Inclusive Education and provide valuable insights into UDL strategies.
The event will be held at the prestigious Kalidaas Sanskrit Academy in Ujjain, under the guidance and supervision of honourable Fr. Tom George, the Director of MCSE & respective Dr. Prem Chabra, the Academic Director of MCSE.
On the first day of the seminar, esteemed guests including Professor Vijay Kumar Menon, the Vice Chancellor of Maharshi Panini Sankrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidhyalaya, Fr. Antony Nirappal, the Director of Niramala College of Education, Ujjain and Prof. D.M. Kumawat, the DCDC of Vikram University will be present.
The topics covered on this day will include UDL – Brain Based Learning, Understanding Needs of Inclusion, Principals of UDL, UDL Lesson Plan, and Practical Lesson Plan. There will be three resource persons for the day, namely Mrs. Kshama Kaushik (Secretary & Chief Functionary, RMKM Chachiyawas, Ajmer Rajasthan), Fr. Tom George, the Director of MCSE & Mrs. Yogita Yadav (Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychologist at MCSE).
On the second day, respective honourable Bishop Ji Dr. Sebastian Vadakkel, the Patron of MCSE regulated through Madhya Pradesh Viklang Sahayata Samiti (MPVSS), Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, the Vice Chancellor of Vikram Universit, Dr. Govind Gandhe, the Director of Kalidas Sanskrit Academy will also be present as distinguished guests.
The topics covered on this day will include UDL for maximizing learning potentials of Children With Disabilities (CWDs), Effective Teaching Strategies, Legal and Policy Framework, and Creating a Safe and Inclusive School Climate.
The resource persons for day two include Prof. Sujata Bhan (Head of the Department of Special Education at SNDT Women’s University Juhu Campus, Mumbai), Mrs. Hemangi Parashar (Coordinator of this National CRE Programme based on UDL & Assistant Professor at MCSE) Mrs. Yogita Sharma(Assistant Professor at MCSE), Mrs. Manjusha Dey, (Assistant Professor at MCSE) & Dr. Nidhi Gupta Mam.
The seminar promises to be an insightful event, providing participants with valuable knowledge and strategies for implementing Universal Design for Learning in their respective educational settings.
