One Week long programme “Aarohi Sopan- 2022 Towards Inclusion” was concluded on 11th December 2022 at Cosmos Mall, Ujjain. This was to mark the International Day for Person with Disability which falls on 3rd December. Programme was Organized by Manovikas College of Special Education, Ujjain in collaboration with Rotary Club of Indore Adarsh, the “Aarohi Sopan-2022 Towards Inclusion” concluded. Disability Week was celebrated from 03rd to 11th December 2022. On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities Sadbhavna Rally and Cultural awareness program was organized on 3rd December. The purpose of this, is to include the Special children in the society and connect them with the main stream. The Sadbhavna rally reached Shaheed Park at 5.30 pm from Freeganj Sukhsagar Gurudwara via Priyadarshini Chauraha (Indira Gandhi Chauraha) and Tower Chowk, where cultural programs were organized. A competition was organized on 5th December in which students from different schools participated. Painting was organized on 6th December and on December 7, a sports competition was organized at Nirmala school, Dewas Road, in which special children’s race and soft ball throw competition were organized.

The programme was concluded on December 11 at Cosmos Mall. The chief guest of the program was Mr. Roshan Kumar Singh, Executive Director, Ujjain Smart City and Commissioner Ujjain Municipal Corporation. In the program Fr. Tom George, Director, MCSE, Dr. Prem Chhabra, Academic Director, MCSE, Sr. Merin, Principal, Manovikas Special School, Mr. Gyanendra Purohit, Rehabilitation Social Worker, Advocate, Activist. Cosmos Mall Manager Mr. Deepak Sharma, Marketing Manager Mr. Ritesh Kaul, Sushila Gurjar, Event Coordinator etc. were present.

The program was started by lighting the lamp and prayer song. The guests were honored by the Uparna and welcome song. Mr. Commissioner given his views that special children should be given proper opportunity for their development. Guest stated that special children are responsibility of whole society. In the program, the winners of first, second and third places in various competitions were honored with gifts and certificates. Various schools of Ujjain, Christ Jyoti, St. Mary’s School, Manovikas Special School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lokmanya Tilak Vidyalaya, Manovikas college of Special Education, Excellent School, Gyan Sagar children presented dance. Dance was also presented by Yati Prabha Kushwaha, Ruchika Bairagi, a trainee of MCSE. The program was conducted by Mr. Govind Chhaparwal, Assistant Professor and Sports Coach Manovikas and made the program successful with the cooperation of all the staff and trainees of the college.
