A National Webinar on “Early identification and Early Intervention for Children With Deaf Blindness and causes in Indian Society’’ was organized by Manovikas College of Special Education, Ujjain on 26 and 27 November 2020. It was approved by Rehabilitation Council  of India as CRE Programme.

In Inaugural session Dr. Prem Chhabra, Academic Director, MCSE, Ujjain welcomed Chairperson Dr. Govind Gandhe, Member Executive Committee, Vikram University, Ujjain and Chief GuestDr.Mr.Akhil Paul Director, Sense International India, Ahmedabad. Inauguration session started with silent prayer.

Resource person for 1st day was Mrs. Krupa Velani, Project Coordinator Blind People Association, Ahmedabad. The resource person spoke on the subject“Introduction to deafblindnessand multiple disabilities”. She explained Pre Natal, Natal and Post Natal, causes of Deafblindness and ways and means to prevent it. In the 2nd session,Mr. Sachin Rizwal, Head, Capacity Building Sense International India, Ahmedabaddelivered lecture on Early Intervention and Identification. He explain about communication skill and basic concept learning of child in its early age.3rdSessionMr. Deepak Krishna Sharma, Manager, Networking, Sense  International India, Ahmedabadexplained the Impact of Sensory Loss on development and growth of children with deafblindness. The last session of the first day was delivered byDr.Aakash Ware, Audiologist & Speech Language Pathologist. He spoke on High Risk Factors associated with hearing loss

2nd day was started with the lecture by Mrs. VimalbenThawani, Project Director, Blind People Association, Ahmedabad on Psycho-social impacts and needs of multiple disabilities and  Deafblindness.  Mr. Srijan Singh of Manovikas College, Ujjain explained the Need for appropriate Nutrition for children with disabilities.A lecture on Multidisciplinary approach of intervention in Indian Society was delivered by Mrs. Renu Devi Manovikas College, Ujjain and Mr. Virendra KumarManovikas College, Ujjainexplained the Risk Factors associated with Visual Impairment.

MsDivyaPandy, Coordinator of CRE and Mr. Gaurav Agrawal, ICT Incharge jointly conducted the webinar.
